Ingredients

1 pound cake, sliced
1 cup lemon curd (store-bought or homemade)
2 cups whipped cream
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup limoncello liqueur (optional)
Lemon zest, for garnish
How To Prepare

1- In a small saucepan, combine the lemon juice, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
2- Once cooled, stir in the limoncello liqueur.
3- Place the sliced pound cake in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
4- Spoon and spread 1/3 of the lemon curd over the pound cake.
5- Drizzle 1/3 of the limoncello syrup over the curd, allowing it to soak into the cake.
6- Add a layer of 1/3 of the whipped cream on top of the curd.
7- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients until all are used up.
8- Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
9- Just before serving, sprinkle some lemon zest over the whipped cream layer.
Serve chilled.
